Channel Rules and Guidelines

As with anything in life, please use common sense in the IRC channel. The following rules are intended as guidlines to prevent any issues:

Channel Rules:

1. Absolutely no discussion of suicide-methods or suicide pacts in channel or pm.

2. If you are feeling suicidal and have plans, do not mention specific dates/methods/locations etc. Talking about why you are going to do the deed in general terms and in non-specific time frames is permitted.

3. Do not self-injure, overdose on medication or kill yourself while in the channel. Please seek professional help in this situation.

4. Users are expected to comply with an Operator's wishes even if it is not listed explicitly in the rules section.

5. Register your nicks.

6. Do not promote illegal activites in the channel.

7. When you are new in the channel, it is normal for the operators to ask you some standard questions about why you have come to the channel and possibly other questions. Please do not get insulted by these questions as they are routine for new members. This helps us ensure that the people in the room are not looking at us like we're a fish bowl and helps us maintain the security the community is known for.

Channel Guidelines:

- Please do not flood the channel with very long segments of text. If you want to do so, please ask if people mind in the channel before doing so.

- Use your judgement and just be nice to people. We don't tollerate bully-mentality in the channel.

- If you feel you or someone else is being treated badly or have any issues related to the channel, please contact an operator about it.

- Operators can and will use their own discretion in order to maintain a safe, constructive, and peaceful environment in the channel. Please do not hesitate to message an operator or ask in channel if you have questions or want to talk with an operator about something regarding the channel.
